Jovica Milic, Designer

Jovica Milic was born in Drazanj, Jugoslavija. As a young child, his family headed to Nancy, France, and then further afield to Asbury Park, New Jersey. After earning a graduate degree in architecture at the University of Pennsylvania and winning the prestigious Romanach Award for best designer, Jovica designed for Carlos Zapata in Miami. He then spent seven years as a creative thinker and designer at Hands On! Inc., an internationally acclaimed museum planning firm.

At the same time, Jovica nurtured his dream to create functional, artistic and aesthetically balanced living spaces. In 2002, he started his independent design career, creating homes, interiors and furniture. In 2003, Jovica teamed with artist Claudia Strano Jennings to create a show of lighting fixtures designed as functional art. This collaboration grew into Moxbox and its ethos of artisanal craftsmanship, artistic forms, authentic materials and dynamic design.
